All students within the Bachelor in Business programme complete mandatory language studies, including studies in a foreign language. Use this form to select two preferred languages. What your options are depend on your educational background. Hanken guarantees you a course spot at one of the two submitted choices. If you do not submit a form of your preferences, Hanken will choose a language for you. Click here for more information about your language studies at Hanken.
If you have completed your previous school education in Finnish or Swedish in Finland (diploma from lower secondary and/or upper secondary education), you will study English, Finnish, Swedish and an additional foreign language.
Hanken offers teaching in German, French and Spanish. You will need to choose two languages you could see yourself studying.
Hanken's goal is to supply students with the highest level of fluency possible in a particular language. Therefore, the higher level selected will be prioritised. If possible, your own preferences will be accounted for.
Please select the language you would prefer to study.
If you have completed your previous school education outside of Finland or in another language than Finnish/Swedish, you will study English as well as Swedish or Finnish.
As part of your degree, you will study one of Finland's two national languages: Swedish or Finnish.
Please select which language you would prefer to study, if possible. Then, please submit the skill levels of Swedish and Finnish you would like to study the languages at.
German is a popular subject at Hanken, and many have previous knowledge of the language. To know what level you should start your studies at, you must complete Hanken's level test in German.
The level test is an online test that measures your current skill in the language. Hanken will send you a link that gives you access to the test, and you can complete it at a time of your choosing. However, the deadline for completing the test is 13.8.
You will also have the opportunity to complete the test during an online test session at 13.8. During the session, you can get technical support by Hanken's German teachers.
Choose a level you think fits you. After the level test, your level will be adjusted based on the test result.
If you've previously studied a language, you have the opportunity to start your language studies at a higher level. If possible, you will be given a course spot in the language for which you've submitted a higher level.
If you are unsure which level your language skills are at, below is a quick guide to the meaning of the different levels.
